The group of Cirujanos Ortopedicos Voluntarios (Voluntary Orthopaedic Surgeons) was created by a group of humanitarians orthopaedic surgeons in Spain to address the overwhelming poverty in the developing world. Our foundation was based with a clear goal in mind, to help NGOs in their residing countries to develop in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology.

In the last 10 years we have continuously supported the Fundacion Vicente Ferrer - RDT (Vicente Ferrer Foundation - Rural Development Trust) en Anantapur (India) and as a consequence was created the Asociacion de Cirujanos Ortopedicos Voluntarios (ACOV) (Association of Voluntary Orthopeadic Surgeons). The association was registered on 15/06/2010 with the Registry of Associations of Barcelona (Generalitat de Catalunya).

Our main objective is:

To effectively support and improve the medical treatment programs in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology in those countries or regions where there is a lack of medical assistance. The aim is to improve the living conditions and quality of life for their inhabitants.
